|
Deloitte and Intermountain Healthcare have established a collaboration that brings together Deloitte’s leading-class professional services and informatics capabilities with Intermountain’s access to patients and pioneering experiences in data-driven care. This collaboration will provide market-leading health analytics solutions that will enable providers and manufacturers to unlock the power of big data, improve quality and drive efficiencies in the delivery of care and the development of new therapies. Deloitte and Intermountain will engage other leading healthcare systems to create a community of healthcare researchers working together to accelerate the development of what the Institute of Medicine refers to as a ‘learning health care system.1
By harnessing the power of rich, patient level clinical data and integrated studies performed by our provider community on patients, we will provide life science product developers, manufacturers and researchers with a transformative service that generates real world evidence designed to help achieve critical decision making in a fraction of the time of conventional solutions.

Deloitte offers three products to address these pressing issues in healthcare:
OutcomesMiner: Deloitte’s high-end analytic tool allows users to “mine” leading health system data and helps them understand the impact of clinical treatments and their associated outcomes. OutcomesMiner gives users a population view of associated outcomes and allows users to filter for sub-populations using particular phenotypic characteristics and specific medical associations. Through an innovative, double-blinded data format, customers are able to access insights derived from real and granular patient healthcare data without the risk of exposure to Personal Health Information (PHI).
Retrospective Analysis: Leveraging the findings from OutcomesMiner, Deloitte connects customers to some of the world’s leading researchers at its community of healthcare providers to undertake patient-level analyses to better understand the causality of clinical process level outcomes.
Prospective Studies: OutcomesMiner users are able to conduct observational or interventional prospective research that taps into the same patients who initially drove the insights generated by the Mining tool. This prospective research can incorporate custom data of interest into customized longitudinal studies.

Bottom line benefits
- Support comparative effectiveness research, new product planning activities, HEOR objectives and provide observational insights that can support pharmacovigilance objectives and commercial decision making.
- Eliminate the risk of exposure to Personal Health Information.
- Reduce data distortion by conducting analyses behind provider firewalls, before data has been stripped of valuable identifiers, using Deloitte’s proprietary tools.
- Engage directly with collaborating healthcare providers to conduct retrospective and prospective studies to better understand and confirm causality of specific outcomes with the patients who drove the initial insights.
- Generate rapid insights at a fraction of the cost researchers often pay to purchase and manage large datasets, whose data is frequently less granular than Deloitte’s collaborators' data.
