The Population Division of the U.N.’s Department of Economic and Social Affairs estimates China to achieve an urbanization rate of 62 percent by 2030, above the projected global average of 60 percent and setting the stage for what will be one of the most important forces to shape the global economy this century—shifting 280 million people to cities within two decades. As a result of this change, U.S. investors will find huge pools of potential new customers in China for their goods and services, from basic consumer items to advanced healthcare services and financial products.
