Urbanization in China—Another 280 million people by 2030

China Issues: May/June 2010 Commentary

The Population Division of the U.N.’s Department of Economic and Social Affairs estimates China to achieve an urbanization rate of 62 percent by 2030, above the projected global average of 60 percent and setting the stage for what will be one of the most important forces to shape the global economy this century—shifting 280 million people to cities within two decades.
