Peter Lowes is a principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP and leader of the firm’s Outsourcing Advisory Services practice, serving financial institutions and large corporations in the areas of business process and IT outsourcing and offshoring. Peter has over eighteen years experience in outsourcing and technology services and over thirteen years experience in offshoring. During his career, he has led, co-led or advised on over $20 billion in outsourcing transactions.
Peter’s experience with offshoring and global services delivery began with engagements in the early 90’s, helping firms deliver complex software products with integrated teams operating across the U.S., Europe and Asia. He has subsequently been involved in the creation of local market facing and remote business and IT services organizations in more than 30 countries. Peter is a frequent conference speaker on outsourcing, offshoring and technology services, and his views have also appeared in a number of print and online publications, including The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The San Francisco Chronicle, Information Week, CIO, Barron’s, The Christian Science Monitor and Waters.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Peter was a Senior Managing Director at Hawk Holdings, a private technology services investment and holding company and before that a Managing Director at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where he was co-founder of EDS’ Global Financial Markets Group, a 3,500 person global division. Peter spent his early career as a systems architect and project manager at Logica in London and New York after graduating BSc(Eng)(Hons) ACGI from Imperial College, University of London in Computer Sciences.
