Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CR&S) Reporting Strategy

Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CR&S) reporting is a way for businesses to disclose their corporate responsibility and sustainability accomplishments to investors, employees, communities and other stakeholders. In addition, CR&S reporting enables businesses to better understand the impacts of their operations so that they can improve.

CR&S reporting is becoming expected among leading businesses – 49% of the S&P 100 issued a CR&S report in 2007. This is driven by stakeholder interest and increasing regulation. For example, in the U.S. and Canada, 67 shareholder resolutions calling for CR&S reporting were filed in 2009. And in the U.K., the Companies Act mandates that certain companies disclose their CR&S performance.
