Louis E. Mr. Sasso focuses on providing assistance to debtors and creditors in various aspects of Chapter 11 filings. In particular, he serves as a national resource for technical advice on bankruptcy accounting issues to the audit practice and the restructuring practice, with a particular focus on fresh-start accounting and other aspects of SOP 90-7. He has led teams in implementing fresh-start accounting at some of the largest bankruptcies in U.S. history. His experience also includes management of post-acquisition transition services and out-of-court financial and operational analysis of troubled companies. In addition to troubled company consulting and assistance, Mr. Sasso has many years of experience in public accounting. This experience includes extensive accounting and auditing experience for large and medium-size public and private companies in various industries.
He also possesses extensive experience in merger and acquisition services including operational and financial due diligence and consulting on acquisition and financing agreements. Prior to joining Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP, Mr. Sordillo was a senior associate at a boutique consulting firm specializing in managing operational, financial, analytical and legal challenges. He was also a director of an investment bank where he was responsible for risk management of a $1 billion private equity fund focused on investments in the media and communication sectors. In addition, he also sourced both non-distressed and distressed media and communication investment opportunities and provided due diligence and deal structure support on prospective investment opportunities.
Mr. Sordillo’s experience includes facilitating the operational turnaround of distressed companies; negotiating plans of reorganization, business valuation, and inter-creditor issues with stakeholders; developing strategic alternatives for companies undergoing significant change; and performing due diligence in connection with plans of reorganization and the sale and purchase of assets while working at another “Big Four” firm. Michael Sullivan has a broad range of experience in accounting, reorganization of companies, litigation consulting and forensics, including significant experience in corporate turnaround, loan workout, and bankruptcy situations. He has worked on behalf of debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and trustees. Mr. Sullivan has assisted numerous organizations in their various financial reporting requirements while in chapter 11, including their implementation of Fresh-Start reporting. He has in-depth knowledge of financial modeling, collateral review, long-range planning and forecasting and has assisted clients in the preparation and evaluation of cash flow projections, evaluation of business plans and plans of reorganization.
In addition to his restructuring experience, Mr. Sullivan has extensive experience in performing forensic accounting studies, fraud investigations, post-acquisition purchase price disputes and in analyzing damage claims on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in matters before both Federal and state courts and arbitration panels.
