Deloitte Discovery: Processing

Reduce your risk. Manage your costs.

The Issue

Reducing overwhelming amounts of data collected during the discovery process to a manageable size that legal counsel can efficiently review for relevant information to support its case.

Our Solution

Deloitte Discovery professionals apply a wide range of advanced processing technologies through the preculling, culling and electronic processing phases of an engagement. Using a multiplatform approach, Deloitte is able to scale and configure each project to the unique specifications that the case demands, and manage the project in close collaboration with outside counsel. All actions taken on the data are fully documented so that questions raised by opposing legal counsel, regulators or courts can be answered.

We maintain a strict chain of custody for all data and will only pass electronic data to a third party at our client’s request. By handling data in-house, we have more control over the efficiency and timing of a project. The processes we apply are designed to improve outside counsel’s review efficiency. Among key applications are:

  • Advanced search and filtering technologies
  • Sophisticated graphic interface and concept-based tools
  • High-level e-mail analytics
  • Advanced multi-lingual capabilities (can read more than 100 languages)
  • Powerful decryption and password-cracking tools
