CFOs Add Value to Board Decisions on M&As

Chris Ruggeri, principal, Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP, spoke with Robert Messer of the RMA Journal about Deloitte’s “Bridging the Gap: M&A” study. Deloitte, in association with Corporate Board Member magazine, surveyed corporate directors and CFOs from public companies with revenue of $500 million and above, to compare, contrast, and analyze their views on M&A and risk. The findings indicated that significant differences in viewpoint exist between CFOs and boards of directors on integral aspects of company M&A policy and risk management, including deal strategy, targets, financing, integration priorities, and the effectiveness of in-house M&A teams.
