Surveying energy attitudes: Industry insiders and the public’s outlook on the future of U.S. oil and gas
In late 2012, Deloitte surveyed oil and gas professionals and members of the general population. The oil and gas executives were asked for their views on a wide range of forward-looking issues, including the outlook for U.S. energy self-sufficiency, prices, regulatory issues, and the accuracy of natural gas resource estimates. Questions for public respondents focused upon their view of the U.S. energy industry and related regulatory issues. The most notable findings are described in this report.
