A Center for Health Solutions webinar

Live from the Center

When you make critical decisions about industry events and their impact you need objective, data-driven insights to guide them.

The Deloitte Center for Health Solutions – the health services research arm of Deloitte LLP – produces primary and secondary research and thought leadership to meet this need. Based in Washington, D.C., the Center is independent from political and sales agendas. It relies upon rigorous research to inform all stakeholders in the health care system about emerging trends, challenges and opportunities.

No time to slow down – looking ahead to 2015 HIX open enrollment

With the 2014 health insurance exchange (HIX) open enrollment period behind us, industry stakeholders now face some key decisions as they prepare for the 2015 season. Health plans should consider assessing their participation in exchange markets and product and pricing strategies. States should consider reassessing their operational and technical capabilities. And both groups may need to develop strategies to attract the coveted young invincible population.

What can we learn from this first year of exchanges? What went wrong, what went right, and what does it all mean? Did the young adult population enroll? And perhaps most importantly, what should stakeholders consider while preparing for 2015 open enrollment?

On May 29, Deloitte leaders discussed:

  • Key takeaways from the 2014 open enrollment period
  • Findings from Deloitte's 2014 survey of young adults, including reasons why this population did or did not enroll
  • Considerations for health plans, states, employers and other stakeholders for the fast-approaching open enrollment season
