In today’s challenging business environment, it is critical for organizations to develop a strategic vision and approach in managing risks and taking the “right” risks to create a Risk Intelligent culture. When it comes to helping companies manage risk with confidence, Sandy Pundmann is a veteran.
“Having worked in industry at a Fortune 50 company for 16 years prior to Deloitte was instrumental in shaping my perspective in leading organizations through improvements to their risk processes and developing leading risk management practices. Things have progressed dramatically, as companies continue to reexamine their current thinking related to risk management.”
Sandy is a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP and serves on the leadership teams of the Governance, Regulatory & Risk Strategies services offering, Governance, Risk and Compliance practice, and Internal Audit Transformation services. She focuses on helping organizations on their journey to become a Risk Intelligent Enterprise™, where risk considerations are incorporated into strategic decisions.
During her 15-year tenure with Deloitte, Sandy has provided risk services to organizations throughout the United States and across industries in support of their efforts to develop leading edge risk management programs, by conducting strategic assessments, establishing enterprise risk management processes, conducting board training and leading organizations in identifying critical risks. She has worked with CEOs and their operating teams, chief risk officers, chief audit executives, compliance officers, and other risk constituents to develop company specific risk management programs to meet Risk Intelligent Enterprise management goals in identifying risks to value as well as value creation opportunities.
Sandy is a frequent speaker, author and contributor of articles and presentations on governance, enterprise risk management, and internal audit.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and computer information systems from Missouri State University and an MBA from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. She is a certified public accountant, licensed in Illinois and Missouri, and a certified internal auditor. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants.
One of Sandy’s other passions is helping to develop people to their full potential, particularly women, to encourage them to be successful in their environment. She has also held previous leadership positions with Deloitte’s Women’s Initiative (WIN).
“Helping to encourage women to increase their individual impact for success in their careers is inspiring and gratifying, and something that I strongly believe in and support.”
