BioRichard Walker is a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP in the Technology Strategy & Architecture practice. Throughout his 18-year career, he has focused primarily on information technology strategy, transformation, effectiveness and alignment to business strategy. Prior to joining Deloitte Consulting in 2010, Richard led the financial services IT strategy practice at a large, global information technology and services company. At Deloitte he has served as the lead client principal for numerous engagements covering IT strategy and business alignment, IT operating model design and implementation, business process management and core platform initiatives for retail, commercial, private and investment banks. Richard has also held a wide range of leadership positions within merger and divestiture transformation programs for top financial institutions. Richard’s ability to understand the particular needs of his clients’ businesses, develop practical business solutions based on his deep insights and experience, and bring change that can produce results has led to him receiving many accolades from the clients he serves. Most recently, a senior IT executive at a Swiss investment bank where Richard has assisted with some of their most complex organizational issues commented that “his style, intellect and thought-provoking manner helped us focus on the core issues of communication and governance in the technology services functions. He helped us understand the inter-relationships of the various technical and business groups to better manage the flow of processes and linkage of our services to the business stakeholders’ requirements."
