BioPunit is Chairman of the Board of Deloitte LLP. He has held a number of leadership roles, including most recently as Chairman and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP. He led Strategy & Operations (S&O) and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Consultative Services for Deloitte Consulting in the U.S. as well as for the global network, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL). In addition to chairing the Deloitte LLP Board of Directors, Punit serves on the global DTTL Board of Directors. “I learned my craft by being mentored by others, and that’s what I do with people who work with me. And we are, by culture, a very caring firm.” As Chairman and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP, Punit drove tremendous growth in the U.S. consulting practice despite the recession, helping DTTL become the largest global consulting provider according to leading analysts’ rankings. He guided Deloitte Consulting LLP to be recognized as one of “2010 Best Firms to Work For” by Consulting magazine and as one of the top firms in Vault’s Guide to the Top 50 Management and Strategy Consulting Firms. Under Punit’s leadership, the U.S. consulting organization focused on setting the standard for operational excellence, transparency, accountability, and uncompromised quality. Punit has more than 23 years of experience with Deloitte. Throughout his career, he has helped clients in various industries address a range of issues, including merger integration, operations improvement, and corporate strategy. A priority in Punit’s leadership and advisory positions—as well as in his client-service roles—is winning key client engagements and providing service that exceeds client expectations. His clients have included large multinational organizations spanning the telecommunications, utilities, banking, media, pharmaceutical, retail, and manufacturing industries. Named a “Top 25 Consultant” by Consulting magazine in 2007, Punit has continued to build eminence for Deloitte. He recently conducted interviews with media such as BusinessWeek, Investor’s Business Daily, Financial Times, Chief Executive Magazine, DiversityInc, Bloomberg Business News, and Consulting magazine, which resulted in articles on Deloitte’s unique and strong market position. He also has co-authored articles on strategy and M&A and led discussions with analysts at Gartner, Kennedy, Forrester and other organizations that track and rate Deloitte. Punit has recently spoken at leading conferences such as the Conference Board and Oracle OpenWorld, and at business schools such as Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, MIT, University of North Carolina, and Wharton. Punit was born and raised in India. He moved to the United States more than 26 years ago after winning a Rotary Foundation Scholarship to Willamette University, where he graduated with honors in management.
