Maureen Errity

BioWith increasing demands, escalating risks, evolving regulations, board members are facing a changing governance landscape. It’s increasingly important for board members to have command of the issues impacting strategic decision-making and value creation. When it comes to governance, board and audit committee issues, Maureen Errity is a specialist. She is a director with Deloitte LLP and played a significant role in the establishment of the Center for Corporate Governance. She now leads many of the Center’s activities, such as advising on board and audit committee leading practices, research and thought leadership development, and building and maintaining relationships with third-party governance organizations. In 2008, Maureen was named one of the Yale School of Management Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance’s “Rising Stars of Corporate Governance.” During her twenty-plus-year tenure with Deloitte, Maureen has also spent seven years with the audit practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP serving clients in the manufacturing, consumer business, professional services and telecommunications industries, and seven years in Deloitte’s Merger & Acquisition services group. “When I started my career with Deloitte in 1990, I was excited about the many opportunities offered from a global organization. I have enjoyed developing my career in three separate specialty areas, from financial accounting and auditing to M&A and now corporate governance. The experiences from each opportunity have formed the foundation for my growth as a well-rounded, trusted business advisor.” Maureen received a bachelor of science in accounting from Fairfield University. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in both Connecticut and New York, and is a member of the ConnecticutSociety of CPAs, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Committee for Economic Development Corporate Governance subcommittee, National Association of Corporate Directors and the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. “I believe my civic responsibility is as important as my professional responsibility. For seventeen years, I’ve used my passion for cycling as a way to support the Pan Mass Challenge, a 192 mile bike ride that is the country’s single, largest fundraising event to support cancer research.
