Janet Foutty is the leader of the Federal Consulting practice for Deloitte Consulting LLP. In this role, Janet directs more than 5,000 dedicated practitioners and former government executives to help Federal agencies transform into more efficient, effective organizations with wide-ranging missions in the United States and around the world.
Previously, Janet was the national managing director of Deloitte Consulting’s U.S. Technology practice. Under her leadership, Technology grew to more than 15,000 practitioners across the United States, India and Mexico. She also successfully launched three new businesses under the service area—Application Management Services (AMS), Deloitte Digital and Customer Solutions—and drove the strategic acquisition of Übermind, which put Technology at the forefront of enterprise and consumer mobile strategy and implementation.
Janet joined Deloitte in 1991 and distinguished herself as an advisor to financial services clients. She has deep experience in leading the provision of consulting services in support of technology-based transformations and complex systems integrations and she is a leading authority on business-driven IT strategy. Janet is a frequent speaker at national technology conferences and is often quoted in and around technology matters.
In her career with Deloitte, Janet has held a wide range of leadership positions across services, industry and talent dimensions of the business. She was the Regional Service Area Leader for the Midwest Region and served on the Financial Services Industry leadership team as the Regional Industry leader for the Central Region and as its Human Resources leader.
Janet is an advocate of Deloitte’s Women’s Initiative and founded Women in Technology groups in India and the United States. She was recently named one of the 100 leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by STEMconnector™. Janet is a frequent speaker and panelist on women in technology and government.
In addition to her Deloitte responsibilities, Janet works with several business, arts and community service organizations. Janet currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Metropolitan YWCA; the Dean’s Council of the Indiana University, Kelly School of Business; and on the Leadership Council for the Civic Consulting Alliance. She has recently completed terms on the Board of Directors of the Civic Consulting Alliance and the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.
Janet holds a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Business Analysis from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. She currently lives in Evanston, IL, with her husband and children.
