Dr. Craig Henry serves as one of the directors within Deloitte’s food & product safety practice. He brings a globally integrated approach to food and product safety to help companies deploy solutions that integrate risk and compliance approaches.
Dr. Henry is well known in the food and product safety industry. He serves on the National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection, is a member of the International Association for Food Protection and serves as the chairperson of the Meat and Poultry Program Development Committee. He’s also a member of the Institute of Food Technologists, the American Association of Avian Pathologists, and the U.S. Poultry Science Association, where he has served as a member of the Committee on Drugs and Chemicals since 1994, including a term as Chairman.
Dr. Henry serves as a subject matter specialist for the US Department of Homeland Security Food and Agriculture Sector Coordinating Council and has served as a co-chairperson for the federal Food and Agricultural Sector Coordinating Council representing the private sector of the food industry. His depth of experience and opinion on leading practices is highly respected. Dr. Henry made recommendations to the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service to adopt a risk based inspection system as well as a traceability initiative with FDA to harmonize programs and gain interoperability. He also has published numerous articles in scientific journals.
Dr. Henry received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Delaware. He earned his Ph.D. in Animal Science from Auburn University and also holds a M.S. in Poultry Science from Clemson University.
