Carl Allegretti is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Tax LLP (“Deloitte Tax”) with leadership responsibility for nearly 9,000 professionals across the United States and India.

He also serves as a member of Deloitte’s U.S. Executive Committee with responsibility for the operations of the Deloitte U.S. Firms. In addition, he continues to serve as an advisory partner for several of Deloitte’s largest clients.

Since his election as Chairman and CEO in May 2011, Carl has collaborated with his leadership team to anticipate market changes; understand client needs; innovate and deliver high-value quality professional services; and attract, develop and retain a team of high-performing professionals.

Carl regularly speaks in the national media, at professional forums and on college campuses about leadership, trends transforming the tax profession and tax issues that CEOs face in today’s complex environment.

Carl’s outside affiliations are reflective of his commitment to youth, family and athletics. Carl has successfully completed more than 65 marathons and two ultra marathons – often as part of fund-raising events that enable him to give back to the community. In April 2011, he received the inaugural Mayor Richard M. and Maggie Daley Award as the top fund-raiser at the 2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Among other community commitments, Carl serves on the boards of both the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Imerman Angels, a nonprofit organization that supports cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Committee for the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, which hosts a nationally televised college football bowl game at Yankee Stadium annually.

Carl is a Certified Public Accountant in Indiana and Illinois. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Butler University in Indiana.
