Peter Ackerson, Specialist Leader, Human Capital, Deloitte Consulting LLP, is in the Human Resource (HR) Service Delivery consulting practice, focusing specifically on Outsourcing and Shared Services. Some of his recent engagements have included services in support of global shared services design projects and HR outsourcing advisory projects. In addition, he has assisted companies in their efforts to perform contract reviews, establish service level agreements, and complete service delivery designs.
Peter has over 35 years of experience in HR, HR delivery, shared services, and the use of technology in HR. He has held a variety of leadership positions in various organizations, and has witnessed HR delivery from both a traditional internal viewpoint and a service provider perspective.
In a prior role as Director of HR Services for one the country’s largest retail department stores, he directed an operation responsible for serving 325,000 employees in all transactional and call center activities, including payroll. While serving at a then start-up HR consulting firm, he helped design the processes that led to serving that firm’s first client, built out and staffed their first two service centers, and initiated many process improvement projects, including a Six Sigma initiative.
Peter is a member of The Society for Human Resource Management and The International Association for Human Resource Information Management. He is also a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
