Camp, Baucus to take tax reform on the road
- Camp, Baucus to take tax reform on the road – House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., announced plans to make a series of joint public appearances across the country this summer to solicit ideas on tax reform from individuals, families, and business owners.
- Ways & Means Committee examines role of anti-base erosion provisions in reforming tax treatment of multinationals – At a June 13 Ways and Means Committee hearing, several House taxwriters, including Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., said the current international tax rules contribute to much of the problem of base erosion and that comprehensive reform would go a long way toward addressing the issue.
- Senate taxwriters mull reform options for exempt organizations, charitable giving – A Senate Finance Committee report released June 13 lays out options for changing the tax rules as they apply to the charitable giving deduction, business activities of nonprofits, political activities and lobbying by exempt organizations, and other assorted issues related to tax-exempt entities.
