Taming the Information BeastThe integrated delivery model brings maturity, integration and support to a jungle of Business Intelligence approaches.DOWNLOAD |
A major global provider of measurement technologies for life sciences, chemicals, communications and electronics wanted to re-examine its Business Intelligence (BI) application. Instead of being a one-stop solution for all the applications used by the organization, it had become a complex combination of customized and packaged BI applications that led to various business issues. The company aimed to implement an integrated approach to system development and maintenance.
The organization had transferred its BI system support to a third party service provider to cut down cost. This resulted in unstable applications and systems, limited integration and incomplete documentation which impacted decision making and financial close. To eliminate these roadblocks the company needed to align its project and maintenance team members to the key points in the development life cycle - designing, testing and deployment planning.
With maturity and integration being the key objectives the Deloitte team helped the organization in bringing all its cross-functional teams on a single platform, in terms of understanding what was being implemented and determining effective ways of support. This was achieved by working on various company projects and helping the maintenance teams in knowledge transfer, deploying and maintaining new capabilities and supporting new business users.
