In a startling about-face during the past several years, natural gas market forces have reversed expectations that the U.S. would become a major LNG importer to now potentially becoming a major LNG exporter. The United States Department of Energy is considering approval of several applications for LNG exports. If all applications are approved, the United States would become the world's largest exporter of LNG providing global markets with nearly 29 Bcf/d of gas.
