Melinda Reno is a principal in Deloitte Consulting LLP’s health plans technology practice. She leads Deloitte’s overall ICD-10 (International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Version 10) services nationally. Melinda has more than 17 years of experience in the health care industry and specializes in technology-enabled business for health plans core administrative functions. Melinda also serves as Deloitte’s lead technology principal at several not-for-profit and commercial health plans. Melinda’s experience includes:
- Directly overseeing the ICD-10 remediation programs at two health plans, one national health plan and one regional commercial health plan
- Leading the ICD-10 impact assessment and financial risk assessment at a single state health plan
- Currently leading the development of Deloitte’s provider-payer collaboration solution, which includes a playbook on how to identify, engage, and execute on collaboration in addition to development of a tool to facilitate the collaboration and data exchange between parties
- Leading the development of Deloitte’s approach toward achieving ICD-10 financial neutrality, identifying focus areas for modeling, and defining risk-mitigation plans. This includes creation of an ICD-10 financial modeling tool. This approach and toolset are being used by several health plans to understand the potential risks of ICD-10
- Leading Deloitte’s ICD-10 Webinar Learning Series with AHIP. Deloitte works with AHIP to provide health plans with insight on ICD-10, how to prepare for it, what to expect, and how to derive value from the change
- Leading several large-scale change efforts at regional health plans, including core administrative system componentization project
Melinda earned a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Bentley University and an MBA from Boston University.
