Meet Mike Little
Senior Manager, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP
Michael Little is a senior manager in the forensic practice of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP. In this capacity, Mike utilizes his deep background in conducting and supervising complex criminal, civil and administrative health care investigations to assist clients with conducting internal forensic investigations, anti-fraud consulting, as well as assessing compliance programs. Mike works with a diverse group of professionals, including in-house and outside counsel, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), Certified Fraud Examiners, statisticians, data analytics and computer forensic specialists skilled in antifraud consulting, anti-money laundering consulting, corporate investigations, analytic and forensic technology and litigation and dispute consulting.
Mike has 35 years of investigative experience and has held leadership positions in federal and state governments focusing on the investigation of fraud in government health care programs, white collar crime and high-profile internal fraud matters. He has extensive experience working with health care providers and life science organizations in the area of criminal and civil law, as well as compliance issues. Mike’s experience spans a broad range of issues, including billing fraud, medical necessity issues, unbundling, off-label marketing, kickbacks and pricing frauds in government health plans.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Mike was Deputy Medicaid Inspector General for Investigations for the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General and was the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG). Mike was also Special Agent in Charge for the HHS/OIG in Philadelphia, where he received the Inspector General Bronze Medal for Outstanding Performance.
Mike was recognized by the President’s Council on Integrity and Efficiency in 2005 for his work in supervising an investigation that led to a several hundred million dollar recovery and criminal and civil prosecution of a major pharmaceutical company. He co-authored “After an Allegation: Conducting an effective, efficient internal investigation” in the Health Care Compliance Association’s Compliance Today.
Mike joined Deloitte in 2011. He has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Montclair State University.
