Meet Paul Lambdin
Director, Deloitte Consulting LLP
Paul is a director in Deloitte Consulting LLP’s health plan sector and the National Health Plan Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) solution leader and Retail Services solution leader. He is a thought leader in the go-to-market functions of a health plan, focusing on growth strategy in the era of health care reform. The convergence of defined contribution / private exchanges, the HIX marketplace, and Medicare Advantage / prescription drug plan opportunity has created the tipping point for health plans from B2B to B2C. Paul’s work involves the strategies, solutions, and tools to drive performance for today’s health plan consumer.
Paul’s recent engagements include go-to-market planning for the HIX marktplace, retail distribution strategy, product strategy, retail capability and operational and technical HIX readiness assessments. He works with a broad range of clients, from industry associations to national public companies to regional/single-state not-for-profit plans.
Paul joined Deloitte after more than 25 years in the insurance and health care industries. He very recently served as president of a subsidiary of a large managed care organization, where he had responsibility for a $3 billion revenue health plan, which consisted of the commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid lines of business. Prior to this role, Paul was senior vice president of business development and distribution in the middle market segment of one of the nation’s largest health plans.
Paul received a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science from Yale University and Master of Business Administration in finance from New York University, Stern School of Business. He also maintains his Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations.
He joined Deloitte in 2010. Paul serves on the board of an independent, not-for-profit hospital.
