@Regulatory covers the latest developments across the health care provider, health plans and life sciences industries.

On August 31, 2012, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) final rule. Included in the final rule was the initial framework for the Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program which is set to begin in the 2013 fiscal year and is mandated by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The goal of the Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program is to reduce avoidable admissions for hospitals with high readmission rates for patients with certain conditions.
