John Mennel has extensive experience in private sector development and country competitiveness policy and strategy. John has advised public sector clients in more than twenty countries at the Minister level or above on issues including small-medium enterprise (SME) development, industrial policy, investment promotion, and export promotion. He has worked in a wide variety of industries including high tech services, telecommunications, construction, tourism and agriculture. He has also worked with investors in a number of sectors on strategic investments in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He is a prolific writer and speaker and has presented on economic development at worldwide forums.
John has consulted on early stage technology companies for venture capital firms. He has also advised the governments of Russia and Kazakhstan and private sector investors on numerous privatization and restructuring transactions as well as on policy and strategy projects.
