Uganda Infrastructure Fund Feasibility AssessmentApril 2011-November 2011 || U.S. Agency for International Development |
Deloitte provided professional services to help the Government of Uganda (GoU) in its efforts to assess the feasibility of developing a public-private Uganda Infrastructure Fund (UIF) to attract and channel investment for infrastructure needs. This study assessed the country’s infrastructure needs as well as its relevant legal, regulatory and capital markets environments to determine the current significant and financial viability for domestic and external investment. In doing so, the team identified a strategic vision and fund structure that aligned Uganda’s development objectives with investment in Uganda’s power, oil and gas, transportation, telecommunications and agriculture sectors. Deloitte’s recommendations were widely accepted by Ugandan stakeholders and plans are currently being made to implement them.
