Dr. Stephen Lewarne has significant experience in applied economics including monetary/macroeconomic policy, public financial management, reconstruction, and economic governance and has worked with experience helping the new central bank in South Sudan introduce its own currency.
Stephen is one of Deloitte’s leading economists in the emerging markets space and in fragile states. He also specializes in the analysis of economic growth in developing countries, international trade, business, and oil and gas economics.
He has written several books and papers in development including Economic Governance in War Torn Economies: From the Marshall Plan to the War in Iraq (2006); Broad Based Economic Growth Diagnostics: A Guide for Development Professionals (2011); An Expository Model of Credit-Rationing (1992); and Soviet Offshore Oil and Gas (1987).
