Meet Dave Couture

Growing up in the Silicon Valley, Dave Couture became fascinated by the tech industry at an early age. “I was a kid in a candy store watching the early development of the industry and following the aspirations of great innovators” he says. “There is no industry like it in terms of stretching the boundaries of imagination and constantly challenging the status quo.”

Dave has translated his early interest into a career and he currently leads the Technology industry practice for Deloitte Consulting LLP. In his role, Dave works closely with industry leaders across the value chains for semiconductors, servers, storage, software, networking, mobile devices, PC’s and services. He helps corporate and private equity clients increase/improve shareholder value through innovation, performance improvement, mergers and acquisitions and sales and marketing effectiveness. Dave is also a member of the CMO Council’s Advisory Board.

In his 15 years at Deloitte, Dave has served a variety of roles including Bay Area Local Office Champion for Strategy & Operations, West Region Service Line Leader for General Management, leader of our Marketing Effectiveness service offerings and Lead Consulting Partner for our global relationship with Hewlett-Packard.

Dave earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business with a concentration in financial management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. After a handful of years in industry, Dave went on to earn his MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. From there he joined Deloitte Consulting. “I wanted to get experience across a broad range of management challenges and experiences—spanning markets, customers and operations.”

Dave believes that consultants earn their keep by making the complex simple—and making value-creating ideas executable. He loves his work at Deloitte Consulting, which he says fosters an environment in which individuals can be meaningful contributors and entrepreneurs in their own right. And he enjoys the very rapidly evolving set of clients and client issues that never grow stale.
