Wireless Telecommunications Network OutsourcingA View from the Trenches |
|
When it comes to wireless telecommunications network outsourcing, the voice of experience can make a major impact. Deloitte now offers two new thought leadership pieces written from an in-the-trenches perspective. According to primary author Deepa Purushothaman, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, “Many opinions have been published on wireless telecom network outsourcing, but few are written from the perspective of a consulting firm that has been through the entire experience with the customer.”
The two pieces are intended to provide alternative opinions based on the hindsight of having assisted a client though the outsourcing process. They debunk some of the common myths around network outsourcing and illustrate that, when trying to understand outsourcing, there is no substitute for experience. Co-author Andrew Sheridan of Deloitte Consulting LLP writes, “The most obvious answer is not always the correct one, and failing to appreciate this can lead to bad decisions.”
Network outsourcing can be an emotional topic, however; many aspects are not simply black and white, but rather, are filled with shades of gray. The initial paper, “Exploring the Myths of Wireless Telecom Network Outsourcing,” addresses common misconceptions surrounding the topic. The second piece, “Looking in the Rear View Mirror - Lessons Learned from Wireless Telecom Network Outsourcing,” provides insight on how to deliver successfully, from initial analysis to sourcing and execution.
