Dave Simmons is a director in Deloitte Tax LLP and the national leader of Insurance M&A Services. He has more than 28 years of experience in the financial services industry and spent six years in Deloitte's Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group where he specialized in insurance merger and acquisition transactions.
Dave has been involved in more than 300 M&A transactions in the course of his career and has significant experience in acquisitions, divestitures, demutualizations, privatizations, spin-offs, and other corporate transactions. He also has significant project management experience gained from managing large and complex M&A assignments throughout the world.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Dave held senior tax management positions at a leading P&C carrier and was also a VP of Mergers & Acquisitions at one nation's leading health insurance companies.
Dave holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and a Masters in Taxation from the University of Hartford. He is also a certified CLU and ChFC.
