Meet Val Srinivas
Head of Research, Deloitte Center for Financial Services
Val Srinivas is the Head of Research for the Deloitte Center for Financial Services. In his role, Val works closely with the Center and the extended financial services team to support and continue the development of our thought leadership initiatives in the financial services industry, coordinating our various research efforts and helping to differentiate Deloitte more effectively in the market place.
Val has over 15 years of experience in research and marketing strategy in the credit markets, asset management, wealth management, risk technology and financial information markets. Before joining Deloitte, Val was in charge of market research for the Retirement business at Prudential Financial. Prior to this, as an independent consultant at Decitica, a marketing strategy and research firm, he designed and marketed a very successful syndicated research study on Rebuilding Investor Trust. He also served as Head of Marketing Strategy in the institutional advisory group at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Val spent over nine years leading the global Market Research and Competitive Intelligence function at Standard & Poor’s.
He also served as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Rutgers Business School, where he taught MBA and undergraduate courses in Marketing, Marketing Management, Market Research, Consumer Behavior, Econometrics, Statistical Methods and Macroeconomics. He completed his Ph.D. in Marketing from Rutgers University. Val’s dissertation was on the marketing of financial advice and consumers’ advice-seeking behavior.
Over his career, Val has conducted hundreds of studies covering brand equity, customer loyalty and satisfaction, segmentation, pricing and demand analysis. He has expertise in a diverse repertoire of research methods, including surveys, focus groups, in-depth interviews, ethnographic research and observational studies, web metrics, experimental design, text mining and scenario analysis.
