Women at the WheelWhat the auto industry needs to know about attracting, retaining and advancing female executives |
In 2010, Automotive News once again honored the “100 Leading Women in the North American Automotive Industry” as selected by a panel of automotive industry leaders. The criteria for candidates are as follows:
- Be a leader in her field
- Have senior position of substantial responsibility
- Have major positive effect on her company’s operations
- Be based in North America
- Work for automakers, suppliers, dealerships and allied businesses
In 2005, the final list included 20 CEOs or presidents; this year, only a handful have these lofty titles, and one third of those honored in 2005 have left the industry – but not the workforce. These high-performing women have taken their skills to other industries, leaving the auto sector with a dearth of talent.
What can the industry do to attract and retain the top talent it needs to succeed? To find out more, download the report below. If you have any questions, please contact Steve Schmith, senior manager, Deloitte Services LP.
As used in this document, ‘Deloitte’ means Deloitte LLP (and its subsidiaries). Please see www.deloitte.com/us/about for a detailed description of the legal structure of Deloitte LLP and its subsidiaries.
