Achieving the ROI in Personalized Medicine: Barriers, Incentives and Pathways to Successful Commercialization

Watch the video sessions of the Personalized Medicine Conference

The Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, which is a part of Deloitte LLP, recently released a report titled "The ROI for Targeted Therapies: A Strategic Perspective" at a Personalized Medicine Coalition conference, "Achieving ROI in Personalized Medicine: Barriers, Incentives, and Pathways to Successful Commercialization." This conference offered participants a first look at the findings of the Deloitte study that investigated the return on investment (ROI) in personalized medicine for four key stakeholder groups: consumers, payors, biotechnology/pharmaceutical companies, and diagnostic companies.

This event brought together leaders in business and policy to address questions about the pathway to achieving the potential of personalized medicine. In the morning session, Paul Keckley (PhD), Executive Director of Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, provided a keynote address of the findings of the study, followed by a moderated discussion with industry executives from the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and health plan sector about the implications of the findings. In the afternoon, the sessions turned their focus towards the policy issues and barriers faced while adopting personalized medicine.
