Faculty and Ph.D. Support

The Deloitte Foundation invests in accounting, business and related fields of study within the United States, supporting university students and faculty in many ways. Its matching gifts program, student and faculty grants and awards, education programs, and research support promote collaboration between the academic and business communities.

With a focus on quality and innovation, the Deloitte Foundation encourages educators and practitioners to understand — and work together to help resolve — the issues that are current and relevant to our profession.

Faculty Support
Every year, the Foundation works directly with educators and professional associations to sponsor a number of initiatives that generate new ideas for the classroom, share information about the current state of the practice, support relevant practical research, promote teaching excellence and provide networking opportunities for many faculty.
Ph.D. Support
The Foundation has supported accounting Ph.D. education for decades through its Doctoral Fellowship Program and annual sponsorship of the American Accounting Association (AAA)/Deloitte/J. Michael Cook Doctoral Consortium. It is also at the forefront with the AICPA Foundation, Big Four public accounting firms and many other large CPA firms and state societies to help reverse the shortage of Ph.D. accounting faculty in the United States by increasing the pipeline of quality doctoral candidates in accounting — the future educators of the future leaders of the accounting profession.

Matching Gifts and Other Support
Since 1972, the Foundation has offered a Matching Gifts Program, which encourages partners and employees of the Deloitte U.S. Firms to support higher education through contributions to colleges and universities.
