Ten Green Tips

Ten Green Tips

  1. Take the “How green is your world?TM” survey. How can you become more green, if you don’t know the impact of your actions?
  2. Use products that consume less energy in your home, such as compact florescent light bulbs and ENERGY STAR ® appliances.
  3. Replace disposable products with reusable ones, such as the bags you fill with groceries
  4. Recycle what you use and use recycled products whenever possible.
  5. Manage the technology you use by adjusting computer and thermostat settings and unplugging electronic products when not in use.
  6. Reduce paper usage by using the Internet and electronic storage rather than printing.
  7. Conserve water by taking shorter showers and not letting the faucet run a long time while you brush your teeth.
  8. Eat locally grown food…and better yet food from your own garden. It’s often better tasting, healthier, and doesn’t require transportation from a great distance.
  9. Share what you know about greening with others, while also learning from them. Get involved!
  10. Celebrate Earth Day each year by making (and keeping) greening resolutions.
