Through United Way, our people contribute to our shared charitable goal: strengthening communities where we live and work.
We actively support United Way through annual fundraising, volunteerism and pro bono service and consider the annual United Way campaign to be one of our most important community service endeavors.
Year after year, our people demonstrate an extraordinary tradition of generosity through our workplace giving campaign, including:
- Our $20 million plus United Way campaign, which ranks among the top 10 in total contributions of all U.S. companies. Over the past 13 years, Deloitte's people have generously contributed more than $194 million to United Way.
- More than 50 of our people serve on United Way boards, including the United Way US Board of Trustees.
- Deloitte has contributed multiple pro bono projects, collectively valued at more than $1 million, including helping management of the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas develop a strategic plan. Several more pro bono projects for United Way are in Deloitte's pro bono pipeline.
- Deloitte is a major supporter of the United Way Worldwide Mary M. Gates Learning Center, to which we have contributed $1 million in cash and pro bono support.
In 2010, for the 8th consecutive year, United Way Worldwide honored Deloitte with its prestigious Fleur de Lis Award. This award recognizes Deloitte as having the most Tocqueville givers ($10,000 and above) than any other company in America in the United Way 2009 campaign.
