Human Resources FastForward (HRFF) Continues to Add Significant Value — Now and for the Future

Deloitte’s Human Resources FastForward (HRFF) service offering is designed to help our clients in their efforts to implement a technology-enabled HR transformation. It combines the latest elements of SAP HCM (Human Capital Management) technology, with our experience, knowledge and skills to create a practical and scalable approach to help our clients realize the business value of their SAP HCM implementation. At the core is a pre-configured SAP HCM solution, but HRFF is more than a technology solution. We have approached this from a comprehensive business perspective to incorporate HR business process experience gained from years of working with the world’s largest enterprises, and thought leadership on key HR challenges. Our HRFF service offering includes: a comprehensive SAP HCM solution; a rapid implementation methodology; supporting toolkits and accelerators; detailed test scripts; systems documentation, change management strategies and end-user materials; employee portal integration for Employee and Manager Self Service.
This article highlights the recent enhancements made by Deloitte to HRFF.

HR FastForward (HRFF) offers special value for our clients in three distinct ways:

  1. As a pre-configured SAP solution, it provides a built-in, integrated design for  SAP HCM implementations that is based on effective practices specific to our clients’ areas of interest;
  2. Its matching project deliverables act as accelerators, helping deliver an SAP HCM implementation in significantly less time than any competitor can deliver; and
  3. It is continuously enhanced to leverage the latest functionality that SAP HCM has to offer.

In fact, there are currently three main improvement projects underway that may be of interest to your HRFF clients:

Manager Self-Service (MSS)
This year we launched an effort to develop an HRFF enhanced Manager Self-Service (MSS) experience. This new offering, similar to the HRFF ESS pre-configured solution, will focus on organizing content using a combination of unique navigational elements, context relevant supporting content, visual cues, and custom content displays to provide a rich user-centered, self-service experience. This current design is expected to be completed by the end of May 2009. Completion of MSS will enable Deloitte to offer clients a comprehensive HRFF-based SAP HCM system solution that includes Employee and Manager Self-Service.

HCM Processes and Forms (HCM P&F)
Early this year, we started the development of HCM Processes and Forms technology (HCM P&F) to integrate Adobe’s PDF technology into HRFF. The HCM P&F configuration strategy is aimed at assisting organizations with integrating internal and external users into the business process, providing flexibility to adjust forms-based business processes, and improving overall transparency and traceability that can help drive process and compliance improvements. The technology leverages the Adobe Interactive Form Designer tool, which should help lower operation costs through the reuse of PDF form technology, and provide a more natural look and feel through process and form integration. HRFF currently stands on the forefront of this SAP technology and will soon provide a go-to-market solution designed to help our clients meet their current and future needs.

While the payroll module has been part of HRFF core since the solution’s inception, the next release of HRFF will feature further enhancement to payroll module depth. This improvement will make  the payroll engine more robust, yet still flexible enough to also leverage in U.S. client payroll implementations.

In addition to these current projects, several other enhancements are planned for release within the next 12 months, notably:

  • The inclusion of Enhancement Pack 4 in order to leverage additional SAP HCM functionality, mainly in the Talent Management Area
  • The addition of the LSO administration transactions into the ECC configuration
  • Further integration of the HCM Processes and Forms into the Organizational Management module.
