Meet Craig Gibian
Principal, Deloitte Tax LLP
Craig Gibian joined the Washington National Tax practice of Deloitte Tax LLP in June 2013 as a principal in its Financial Instruments Group. Craig advises Deloitte’s clients in their efforts to evaluate complex financial transactions and utilize financial instruments in a tax-efficient manner.
Craig brings more than 15 years of career experience in the area of the taxation of financial instruments to Deloitte. His extensive work in the area covers the taxation of debt and derivatives, and includes substantial involvement with equity-linked debt offerings. He also has significant experience with real estate mortgage investment conduits (“REMICs”) and developing mortgage credit-linked financial instruments.
In addition to his role as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University Law School, Craig is also the chair of the Financial Products Committee of the DC Bar Taxation Section.
Craig received his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and juris doctor from Harvard Law School.
