Tom McGee is the national managing partner of Deloitte Growth Enterprise Services, with responsibility for the delivery of services to the firm’s mid-market and privately held clients.
Tom sits on Deloitte’s U.S. Operating Group, the U.S. and Global Audit Executive Committees and the Markets and Offerings Executive. He previously served as the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) chief of staff and secretary of the DTTL Executive, reporting directly to the DTTL CEO. Previous to that role, he served in a number of leadership roles in Deloitte’s West region.
Tom has extensive client service experience serving numerous mid-market public and private companies as well as some of Deloitte’s largest clients, such as New Mountain Capital, Dole Food Company, Kingston Technology, Nissan, Office Depot, and Toshiba. He has significant experience working with his clients’ senior management and assisting in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, and balance-sheet restructurings.
Tom is a noted speaker on business, appearing on CNBC and Bloomberg, and interviews and quotes in national media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, CFO magazine, and The Hill, among others.
In addition to his work at Deloitte, Tom is active in numerous civic, charitable, and academic organizations. He currently sits on the boards of Covenant House International, the New York Catholic Foundation, the Board of Regents of Loyola Marymount University, and the Finance Council of the Archdiocese of New York.
Ira Kalish is Chief Global Economist at Deloitte. He is a specialist in global economic issues as well as the effects of economic, demographic, and social trends on the global business environment. He has written about the economies of Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, China, Japan, Mexico and South America, and has also written extensively on global consumer markets.
Dr. Kalish’s recent publications include the quarterly Global Economic Outlook, of which he is the managing editor; the annual Global Powers of Retailing report; China and India: Comparing the World’s Hottest Consumer Markets; China and India: The Reality Beyond the Hype, “Budget Deficits: Why All the Fuss,” an article in CFO Journal, and “Mind The Gap,” an article in Deloitte Review on changing income distribution.
Dr. Kalish advises Deloitte clients as well as Deloitte’s leadership on economic issues and their impact on business strategy. In addition, he has given numerous presentations to corporations and trade organizations on topics related to the global economy. He is widely traveled and has given presentations in 46 countries on six continents.
Dr. Kalish has been widely quoted in the news media; his remarks have been published by the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The Financial Times, USA Today, The Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, and the Far Eastern Economic Review. He has appeared on CNN, CBS News, CNBC, PBS and BBC World Service.
Prior to his work at Deloitte, Dr. Kalish was chief economist at Retail Forward, a director at PwC, vice president at Bankers Trust, corporate economist at the Eastman Kodak Company, and researcher at the Institute for International Economics.
Dr. Kalish holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vassar College and a PhD in international economics from Johns Hopkins University.
