Acquisitions can be risky, and mistakes are expensive. But the success of many multinationals over the coming decade may depend as much on their activities in emerging markets as it does on their home markets. Turkey is among the more stable and “easier” of the major emerging markets, but an acquisition here still deserves careful planning.
