Recent Appointments In Deloitte Turkey Leadership
Deloitte Turkey Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Levent Yaveroğlu handed over his Managing Partner duities to Hüseyin Gürer. Ömer Tanrıöver was assigned as Deloitte Turkey Partner in Charge of Audits in Gürer’s place. Yaveroğlu who has made important contributions to the transformation of Deloitte into the leading professional services provider in Turkey for 21 years will continue to assume his role as Chairman of Deloitte Turkey Board of Partners and Board of Directors.
4 June 2007, Istanbul; As of 1 June 2007, Deloitte Turkey announced recent appointments in leadership. Founding Partner of Deloitte Turkey, Levent Yaveroğlu has handed over his Managing Partner duities to Hüseyin Gürer, the Partner in Charge of Audit.Yaveroğlu will continue to assume his role as Chairman of Deloitte Turkey Board of Partners and Board of Directors and representing Deloitte Turkey at the Global Firm while Ömer Tanrıöver has been assigned as Partner in Charge of Audit, which was vacated by Gürer.
Noting that Deloitte Turkey had left behind 21 years of success, Levent Yaveroğlu said that Hüseyin Gürer would make great contributions in the strong dynamics of growth of Deloitte Turkey. Yaveroğlu continued:
“I am very happy to hand over to an experienced name my duty as Deloitte Turkey’s Managing Partner, where I have served since its inception and which is among the leading firms in its sector in Turkey as in the world. Under Hüseyin Gürer’s leadership, we will confidently continue advancing towards our goal of becoming the largest and most preferred professional service provider in the sector by 2010.”
Deloitte Turkey Managing Partner Hüseyin Gürer received his M.A. in Business Administration at the Middle East Technical University. He worked at the Deloitte London office for 18 months between 1989-1990. In 1994, he became a member to the Accounting and Auditing Standards Board of Turkey. He was elected as a member of the Accounting Standards Board of Turkey in 2004 where he currently serves as one of the 9 members of the board. A certified public accountant, he speaks fluent English and is married with two children.
Deloitte Turkey Partner in Charge of Audit, Ömer Tanrıöver graduated from Istanbul University Department of Business Administration in 1988. He started his career at Deloitte in 1991 as an assistant and then worked as director in charge of audits at Deloitte UK Southampton office between 1994-1996. He commands considerable experience in the design, development and application of financial management and accountancy information systems, transition of companies to IFRS and consolidation applications in groups with multiple companies. A certified public accountant, he speaks English and French fluently and is married with a child.
Deloitte Global elects new CEO
Deloitte Global also had a CEO change as of the beginning of June. Bill Parrett, CEO of the firm which increased its global revenue to USD 23 billion in FY2007, continuing its strong growth, turned over the office of the CEO to Jim Quigley as of 1 June 2007 while John Connolly will assume the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Both were elected by the votes of more than 7,600 partners from Deloitte member firms from all around the world.
