Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Jaiyos is the Thai practice of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Our Thai practice was established by Phya Jaiyos Sompati who was the first Thai to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (England & Wales) in 1919. After a distinguished career in Thailand’s Ministry of Finance, including an appointment as the Minister of Finance (1935-1938), he resigned from government service at an early age and founded the firm, Jaiyos & Co., on 23 January 1939. At the same time, he was asked by the Ministry of Education to set up the School of Commerce and Accountancy at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand’s oldest university and recognised as the country’s premier university. He was also an architect in the drafting of the Auditors Legislation in Thailand.
Jaiyos & Co., became a member of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu global network in 1977. In 1997, the firm changed its name to Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Jaiyos – a name reflecting its proud Thai origins and growing international capabilities.
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Jaiyos has been proudly serving clients in Thailand for over 65 years. We have a long history of assisting local and international companies with their business needs. A growing firm, we have a team of local and international professionals, which includes 34 Thai and international partners and directors and approximately 500 staff in Bangkok.
Many of our service professionals have extensive experience working overseas assignments, bringing with them international perspectives and ideas. In addition, our professionals actively participate in training to keep abreast of developments in the local and global business environment.
The office is located in a modern high-rise building right in the heart of Bangkok’s business district.
