Revealing the challenges, the drivers and CEO insights behind Central Europe's Top 500 companies.

The CE Top 500 is a ranking of the 500 largest companies in the region compiled according to the revenue.
There are 18 Slovenian companies listed at the CE TOP 500 out of which Mercator Group ranked highest, taking 40th spot on the list. Petrol is the second largest Slovenian company by revenue, ranking on 54th place. Other companies that found their place on the list also show no significant changes in the ranking from previous year: Gorenje (111), Revoz (122), HSE (183), Merkur (184), Telekom (216) etc.

In general , the ranking shows little change from the previous year with PKN Orlen, Poland’s oil refiner and petroleum distributor, still at the top of the list with other energy companies including MOL of Hungary and CEZ of the Czech Republic close by.

The other top slots are filled by automobile manufacturers led by the Volkswagen owned Skoda from the Czech Republic followed by Audi in Hungary and Volkswagen’s own subsidiary in Slovakia. Telekomunikacja Polska, the telecommunications provider from Poland is the only non energy related, non auto company in the region’s top ten. Deloitte also presents you the list of TOP 100 banks and TOP 50 insurance companies in Central Europe.

The CE Top 500 ranking provides an essential map of the challenges that face enterprises and managers in the region. The rankings are accompanied by commentaries on industry trends and a series of conversations with CEOs from leading Central European organizations, who rarely have the opportunity to air their views as a group. The interviews reveal a surprising consensus among executives regarding the main problems their companies face. One particular area of concern is the quality and innovative abilities of Central Europe's workforce, which is becoming more expensive as talent grows more scarce.
