Competition Act 2004
The Competition Act 2004 came into effect on 1st January 2006 and its regulator, the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) has been tasked to maintain and enhance efficient market and promote overall productivity, innovation and competitiveness of markets in Singapore. In doing so, the CCS wants to eliminate or control practices that are anti-competitive within Singapore in these specific areas:
- Agreements etc preventing, restricting or distorting competition;
- Abuse of dominance and
- Mergers
