Conference on China’s 12th Five Year Plan

China’s 12th Five Year Plan (FYP) was successfully held in Singapore on 31st March 2011.
Organised by UFIDA Singapore, International Enterprise Singapore and Deloitte, this business conference was attended by more than 100 senior executives from different industries, including organisations that already have or are planning to have investments in China.

Mr Zheng Yu Lin, the senior vice president from UFIDA delivered the speech on the “12th FYP and China’s environment”. Attendees included Mr Sun Yang Bo (UFIDA Managing Director), Mr. Zeng Zhi Qiang (UFIDA Vice President), Mr Foong Kah Keong (IE Director) and Mr Eugene Liu from Deloitte.



Mr Zheng shared on recent polices and how to manage Chinese business via new technology. Mr Eugene Liu from Deloitte gave an overall briefing on the investment environment in China including innovation in the traditional industrial frameworks. He also gave an in-depth analysis on the challenges of investing in different regions in China. Mr. Foong, Director of IE Singapore, pointed out that the Singapore government would progressively pay more attention to the Chinese market and encouraged Singapore enterprises to “go global”.

During the event, there was active dialogue among representatives of the various organisations and many expressed their strong interest after the meeting.


This conference enabled the participating Singapore organisations to have a deeper understanding of the investment environment in China enabled them to better appreciate the huge market potential and investment opportunity in China.
