TMT Predictions 2013

What's ahead in technology, media & telecommunications?

What new funding trend could complement your existing venture capital efforts in 2013? How could your company leverage the "Bring Your Own Computer" policy as a key tool? These are just a few of the insights you can gain from reading Deloitte's Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Predictions 2013.

Deloitte's TMT Predictions are based on worldwide research – including in-depth interviews with clients, Deloitte alumni, industry analysts, global industry leaders and more than 8,000 Deloitte practitioners. The Predictions presents Deloitte's view of key developments over the next 12-18 months that are likely to have significant medium- to long-term impacts for companies in TMT and other industries. The aim of the Predictions is to catalyse discussions around significant developments that may require companies or governments to respond. It provides a view on what Deloitte believes will happen, what will likely occur as a consequence, and what the implications are for various types of companies. The intention, however, is not to have the last word on any given topic. Rather, its purpose is simply to kindle the debate.

For 2013, the key changes include an upsurge in momentum behind Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile networks, the start of preparations for the next generation of high definition television, known as 4K, the first one billion shipments year for smartphones and increased challenges for standard passwords.
