Deloitte Singapore's history

The making of Deloitte Singapore

1967          Goh Kee Song, Steven Tan, Y.K. Kon and Alan Foo founded the firm which eventually came to be known as Goh Tan & Co
  1970 Goh Tan & Co joined The SGV Group, then the largest professional services firm in Asia based in the Philippines. The firm continued to operate under the name, Goh Tan & Co: the consulting arm was known as the SGV-Goh Tan Pte Ltd
1976 Medora Tong & Chow was established in Singapore by founding members, Jamshid Medora, David Tong and Henry Chow
1979 Deloitte Haskins & Sells registered as a practicing firm in Singapore and operated through Goh Tan & Co
1984 Goh Tan & Co and Deloitte Haskins & Sells combined their practices. At the same time, Medora, Tong & Chow was changed to Henry Chow & Associates
1985 Henry Chow & Associates merged with Touche Ross & Co
1990 Deloitte Haskins & Sells merged with Touche Ross to form Deloitte & Touche
2007 Deloitte member firms in Brunei, Guam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam joined together to form Deloitte Southeast Asia
2008 Deloitte & Touche converted to Deloitte & Touche LLP
2011 Launch of the Deloitte Analytics Institute Asia, the second one to be established by Deloitte, joining the flagship facility in the United States
2012 Integration of the SEA Consulting Practice into the Deloitte Southeast Asia firm
2013 Deloitte’s acquisition of Monitor, one of the world’s leading strategy consulting firms which has operations in Singapore and serves clients across Southeast Asia
