The Central European Environmental Reporting Award (Green Frog Award) established by Deloitte, has for the first time this year been awarded in Serbia. According to jury members, the winner of the Green Frog Award for the year 2009 is Audi Hungaria Motor, while Magyar Telekom came second, while Coloplast Hungary turned third. Carlsberg got a special award for the best Serbian report, and other companies who applied for this competition from Serbia, Telenor, Hemofarm and HIP-Petrohemija got certificates from Deloitte.
“We hope that Green Frog Award will become a symbol of promoting environmental culture among companies in the region According to Deloitte, annual financial statements of companies in the region would not be solely limited to the financial implications of the companies' business,” says Nada Suđić, a Partner in Business Advisory service.
“This year a total of 27 Hungarian, 4 Serbian and 3 Croatian reports were submitted as a part of the contest. It should be specially emphasized that that those companies prepared reports on voluntary basis. As a traditional and significant activity, it has been estimated that the award is to promote European policy advocating against CO2 emission and in favor of eco-innovations” as pointed out by Dejan Trifunović from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, member of jury collaborating with on this Project.
