Customs declaration (Customs and Excise Duty Alert - 5/2013)

Only two import declaration forms available from 1 May

The Ministry of Finance has announced that starting from 1 May 2013 only two import declaration forms can be used: electronic import declaration (key encrypted electronic communication) or a paper form only (SAD). Paper SAD documents with unencrypted electronic communication will no longer be admissible, with the exception of emergency procedure.
From 1 May customs declarations in the form of non-key encrypted electronic communication will be automatically rejected by the CELINA system.
If the electronic form is applied, the declaration must be registered in the Reference Data Subsystem (PDR) in order to obtain a key to enable secure data transmission by persons signing electronic communication.

Exceptions

The amendments will not apply to selected types of documents filed at the CELINA system, for instance notifications sent under simplified procedure in approved places (PWD), shortened declarations for temporary storing (DS), declarations confirming the European Community status (T2L) and other documents.
The entire announcement is available at the official website of the Ministry of Finance.
