The Deloitte-BusinessNZ Election Conference held in Wellington on October 31 is the premier forum for the business community and party political leadership to engage on the key issues that matter to business. It’s an opportunity for business to have its say in the lead-up to the 2011 general election.
The results of a BusinessNZ survey of its members presented at the conference provide insight into issues and opportunities across the government environment, investment and sustainability, infrastructure, trade, skills and productivity, and employment. Along with the findings from the survey, the political parties provided their respective policy positions on these issues.
Deloitte CEO Murray Jack, managing tax partner Thomas Pippos, and infrastructure leader Paul Callow have analysed the key survey findings and provide insights on what the business community is seeking from the next Government and where the political parties are aligned in response to these concerns.
